Lake Superior, Duluth

Duluth is a nice semi-industrial town loacated along the shores of the Lake Superior, the world's largest fresh water lake.

This (^) was the most beautiful site I saw in along the Duluth "lake walk"....




The shores of the lake are dotted with "stumps" and anchors like these all around adding a nice rustic look to the otherwise industrial town of Duluth!!!!

On thin ice........

This picture was taken when I was walking along the lake Superior, Duluth, MN. Being late Feb, the winter had started to recede and the frozen shores of the lake had started to melt making the ice less dense. The first thing that this picture reminded me was that of Earth from space :-) The only problem was that I was not able to avoid the reflection of the sunlight in the top right of the picture.

Snow on leaves!!!

My obsession with snow continues!!! These pics were taken at the Minnesota zoo. The snow that had fallen a few days back had started to thaw leaving the trees with little white patches all over.

Snowfall in the night.

This snap was taken at 1AM. I was getting no sleep, TV was too boring and there was no one online to chat with either. The perfect reason to draw the curtains and look outside. Thats when i saw this sureal brightness in the sky. Like the sun had decided to cheat the moon and the stars. It was simply beautiful. A pity, I am such a bad photographer, cause the sky looked more enchanting than this photograph....!!!!

the art of meeting for nothing!!!!

"So, what do ya wanna order for lunch???"...hmmm...tough question....let me think of the right approach...yup got it...lets schedule a meeting on outlook, book a conference room, create a deck , meetup and discuss :D

WTF???? Whats with poeple now-a-days????? absolutely any issue thats comes up in work qualifies for" The Meeting". Ironically... people are happy...happy to move around with files and notes in their hands and remarking to the "unlucky" mortals..."u know i wish we could do that...but i have a meeting now"...come-on guys...gimme a break!!!!!!

When i am in such a meeting its much like this..before the meeting begins my mind goes numb...i start to wonder..."how will these guys kill one complete hour discussing on such a worthless, non-debateable, un-necessary, non-value adding topic???" ....and at the end, i come out of the meeting in amazement :) WOW ...........THEY ACTUALLY RAN SHORT OF TIME!!!!!!

we got bored of sitting in the room all day long.....and what a day to get bored, i must say....the Met. department had forcasted an artic cold spell days before....in english .... i do know english....
so anyways, we decided to see downtown on that very day...should have got the hint when we left the hotel and boared the shuttle....but no no....no no...."we wanted to get out"....idiots, dumbass move -1
we reach the train terminal and my hands were so frozen i couldnt even feed the dollars into the ticket counter.....we got into the train and looked at each others ...idiotic..and we knew that..
gettin off at the terminal we tried walking....yes walking..... to the the catherdral, dumbass move -2.....no sooner had we started a nice ice cold breeze hit us.....and thats it my eyes went numb and i felt like politely curling up near the pavement and dying......we managed to find a taxi near by and jumped in....smartass move-1 :)....... reaching the cathedral, we went in and watched the prayers for about an hour before deciding to move to the walkers art gallery...and by sayin move i mean walking, dumbass move-3......we reached the building and did not know from where to enter and the cold had made our brains so numb, we couldnt think straight.....we then met the only other human on the road that day....i like to call him our fellow dumbass from switzerland....so the 3 "dumbasses" went about looking for an entrance.....and finally found it .....moral : 3 cold numb brains=one normal brain....
after moving around the gallery and making statements about a topic none of us knew...we were ready to head back....we decided to find out if the gallery had a facility to call cabs and they did...smartass move-2.
The cab took us to the train station and we left downtown....we decided to go the "Mall of America" stop since it was covered and also, since we wont be left exposed to the elements...smartass move-3......finally we reached, called the shuttle and came back to the hotel......hmm...now for introspections 3 dumbass moves and 3 smartass moves....they cancelled out i guess.....we are as normal afterall :D

week one in minneapolis :)

and so i finally decided to start writing blogs again.......and i promise to all who wil read this (if at all anybody does) ...no more "dog centric writin"!!!!
so i saw my first snow here. reminded me of the add " when was the last time u saw something for the first time" :) :) was beautiful...and when they landed on my coat...the perfect bloody hexagons....god (if at all) sure is an artist.
not too easy to read faces here...still a lot to get used to....they always have the same expression....
this place is so systematic, so monotonous, to much "in place"...I LIKE IT!!!!
